Fanshawe College is a leading Canadian institute of higher education, which offers more than 200 degree programs to over 43,000 students. Fanshawe approached Digital Echidna to create a cutting-edge online experience for students, staff, and other stakeholders. With each audience having different needs on the site, Digital Echidna would need to insure that information be organized in a way that would allow for an optimal experience for all audiences.
The new site architecture was built upon a foundation of extensive user research, focus group work, and insights from key internal stakeholders.
This architecture created a more cohesive online experience for all site users, one that prioritized search -- an item identified as a high-priority user desire that would improve the online student experience. A robust faceted search integration and integration of a third-party course calendar helped to create a one-stop experience for student information.
