Already frustrated by on-going connectivity issues, a market competitive analysis report revealed inadequate reach, limited functionality, and inconsistent workflows; SUNY Morrisville determined its in-house built website CMS had
reached end-of-life. SUNY Morrisville’s overarching strategy was to deliver a unified and engaging digital experience for all university "customers" — aspiring and current students, lifelong learners, alumni, and industry partners. Central to this vision was a new website complete with navigation and content improvements to optimize the user experience. Armed with complex technical and strategic recommendations plus an updated visual brand, SUNY Morrisville looked next to partner with a technology firm to help deliver the third and final phase of its project plan - a unified and engaging digital experience.
The redesign encompassed the main college and several auxiliary school sites including Copper Turret Restaurant and Brewhouse, Nelson Farms, Bookstore, Iceplex, and an equine rehabilitation center. A strong information architecture combined with an optimized search was designed based on user research. The new clean, mobile-first, responsive design features intuitive, consistent, site-wide navigation to help visitors find their way around with ease on a wide range of web browsers and devices. It prioritizes stakeholder audiences in its organization and tone, and emphasizes ADA accessibility. Acquia Cloud Platform provides 24/7 hosting support and has virtually eliminated site downtime. Overall, SUNY Morrisville’s new website encapsulates its brand while remaining oriented towards stakeholders.
